Photo: NICOLA WILLIAMS By NICOLA WILLIAMS Helping out friends on their wedding day turned into an expensive exercise for one couple. Randell Hedges and his wife hired photogra- phy equipment to cap- ture the wedding of friends on a limited budget. They were taking photos at Musick Pt on November 27 when the gear and irreplaceable photos were stolen from their car. Insurance isn t cover- ing the loss worth $12,000 to $15,000. Our biggest heart- ache was we lost one of the wedding video tapes we had just recorded at the ceremony and a laptop which had the only copy of the wedding ceremony photos, he says. Both our cellphones were taken so we lost the only photos we had of our kids when they were born. The laptop was ours -- so it also con- tained photos of our two kids which don t exist anywhere else. We don t have the money, we ll either have to work something out to pay it back or look to family for help. Mr Hedges is appeal- ing to anyone who finds any of the gear to return it, no questions asked. He says the items would not be of value to others because it was incomplete. The laptop was taken with no charger and the tripod didn t have its plate. I usually never leave gear in the car but this day was just a little dif- ferent. I just want to reiter- ate to others that you think the car is still in sight or you re only going to leave it for a couple of minutes but you ve got to keep your wits about you. The return of the tape with the wedding footage would be of huge value to the couple and their friends. Email whereisour email@example.com with any information. A small reward is being offered.
